OS-X Help -

ProComm's help pages for Mac OS-X assume you are using either Safari, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Vicomsoft FTP Client or Fetch. This is not meant to imply that you cannot use other ftp clients to access the ProComm ftp site. Some of ProComm's help pages will also apply for those of you using Netscape or other ftp clients.

If you are attempting to use Safari to download your files, follow these steps.

If you are using Internet Explorer to download your files, follow these steps.

If you have Vicomsoft FTP Client installed on your Mac, follow these steps.

If Fetch is your ftp client, follow these steps.

.

Internet Explorer is available as a free download at Microsoft. Once installed on your Mac, Internet Exporer can handle downloading files from ProComm's ftp site. (IE for Mac will not upload files via ftp.) Its default installation may NOT allow you to immediately start downloading files from ProComm's ftp site, so some easy settings have to be made first.

Safari is usually installed on all Macs by default and is available as a free download at Apple. Safari WILL NOT directly handle FTP links. By default, Safari hands FTP requests off to the Finder. Click here for more information on downloading files when your default Internet browser is Safari.

.

A demo of Vicomsoft FTP Client is available as a free download at Vicomsoft. Once installed on your Mac, Vicom can handle uploading and downloading files from ProComm's ftp site. Its default installation may NOT allow you to immediately start downloading files from ProComm's ftp site, so some easy settings have to be made first.

A demo of Fetch is available as a free download at Fetchsoft. Once installed on your Mac, Fetch can handle uploading and downloading files from ProComm's ftp site. Its default installation may NOT allow you to immediately start downloading files from ProComm's ftp site, so some easy settings have to be made first.
